Where alcohol and art intertwine in the Arts District.
By Madison Kimbro · April 12, 2025

Just ahead of BARTER's April 19, 2025 grand opening, 8 News Now (KLAS) reported on the mall's mission: a new, affordable workspace for Las Vegas artists in the Arts District “where alcohol and art intertwine.”
Covering the 6,000-square-foot space — with a bar at the entrance pouring beer, wine, seltzer and snacks, plus a beer garden oasis at its center — the piece profiled local jeweler Liliauna Beckstrom and the dozens of vendors already lined up. “Art is the true culture down here,” Beckstrom said of the mission to give artists a platform amid the struggle of being priced out of the District.
Co-owner Dr. Suzanne Roozendaal framed the idea simply: rents had climbed and artists needed an affordable way in. “We've created a space where you can pay to rent and we bring in the customers by having a bar,” she explained. The outlet also broke down the three booth types — classic floor-and-wall, gallery, and shelf space — rounding out the picture of a space built for a community to create, sell, and stick around.
