Mostly Squares

Mostly Squares is the brand; Adam is the artist behind it, working across a handful of mediums. “Atom” is paint on canvas: acrylic, marker, spray paint, and other analog materials. “OKME” is a cast of colorful characters ranging from wide-eyed, big-toothed cartoon monsters to fractured, Cubist-inspired faces, all tied together by bold black lines and hot, saturated color. “Creeps” began as a single hand-drawn character, then multiplied into hundreds of variations with different hats, eyewear, grillz, and backdrops. Every element was illustrated by hand, scanned, and assembled into unique combinations by a custom script. “AbstrAKts” is a closed series of phone photographs transformed entirely through in-app filters. No layers, no source file to reopen, and no undo—each image became a final, irreversible decision. The series was photographed and completed years before generative AI entered the picture.
